What is an umbilical cord?

Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) are a type of stem cell that is collected from the umbilical cord tissue or blood after childbirth. Cord is an organ that supplies all the cells and nutrients the fetus needs for growth from the mother. Here, you can obtain ‘Hematopoietic stem cells’ that produce blood and the immune system, and ‘Mesenchymal stem cells’ that can multi-differentiate into human organs.
