What are fibroblasts?

fibroblast cell

Fibroblasts produce substances such as collagen inside the skin. As the number of fibroblasts decreases with age and their activity weakens, it can lead to age-related phenomena such as wrinkles and sagging.

Transplantation of fibroblasts can promote the propagation and differentiation of skin cells, leading to more active production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. There have been reports that this treatment can restore the skin’s youthfulness, elasticity, translucency, and sensation of moisture.

Fibroblast Therapy

Fibroblast Therapy for skin care

Human skin contains several substances such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin that form the basis for the skin’s resilience, moisture, and elasticity. These substances are created in our skin cells, but those cells can become damaged by stress and ultraviolet radiation, and lose their functionality with age, and those are major factors that can contribute to wrinkles and sagging.

Fibroblast transplant procedures make your skin get back original youthfulness as the tissues of the skin’s being improved.

Fibroblast Treatment Mechanism

This therapeutic technique involves harvesting fibroblasts, growing and cultivating them in a specialized facility, then transplanting them into age-related problem areas. The therapy is intended to improve age-related deep wrinkles, sagging, and furrows from the inside of the skin itself.

    Fibroblasts therapeutic process

The flowchart below will walk you through the therapeutic process involved in our regenerative medicine fibroblast transplant procedure.

    Step 1 : Counseling
During your counseling session, you can feel free to tell us about your symptoms and concerns, and one of our doctors will provide you with a thorough diagnosis. During your examination, a doctor will explain to you about regenerative medicine therapy and the details of the procedures you will undergo.
    Step 2 :Blood test
A sample of your blood will be taken.(In order to shorten the schedule of overseas hospital visits, a pre-blood test can be done in your country of residence.)
    Step 3 : Skin sampling

Around a week late, a piece of skin the size of a grain of rice will be taken from behind your ear to harvest cells for culturing. Anesthesia will be used for this process, so please do not be worried about any pain. In addition, blood will be drawn for use culturing.

    Step 4 : Cell culturing

Our laboratories have been awarded status as a “Manufacturer of Specially Designated Cellular Compounds”. In these laboratories, cells are cultured for 4-5 weeks under strict standards. Our labs are propagating and culturing them to 10,000 times their original amount.

    Step 5 : Fibroblast transplant(1st time)

Approximately five weeks after your skin is harvested, the cultured fibroblasts(10,000 times the original number) will be transplanted into your skin. The dermal fibroblasts will begin to repair your weakened skin tissues.

    Step 6 : Fibroblast transplant(2nd time)

2 weeks after that, you will undergo another fibroblasts transplant at the same site. This process of two successive transplants will allow the cells to become more firmly established.

Step 7 : Free physical examination

We recommend that you come in for free physical examination several months after your transplant. A doctor will explain your progress to you. If you wish, following your second transplant you can opt to have cultured cells for a further three procedures stored for the future via cryopreservation as a means of “cell banking”.
